The Cincinnati Bengals are back on the road today to face the Carolina Panthers. Before kickoff gets underway, let's look at those who won't play in today's game.

Here are the Bengals' Week 4 inactives

  • DT B.J. Hill
  • TE Tanner Hudson
  • TE Tanner McLachlan
  • DT Sheldon Rankins

Rankins (hamstring) was the only player on the active roster entering today that was already declared out prior to the weekend. The veteran defensive tackle has missed the last two weeks of practice.

Hudson (knee) will also miss his second consecutive week with injury.

Not listed above is right tackle Trent Brown, who was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Saturday and will miss the rest of the season. Rookie first-round pick Amarius Mims is slated to make his first career start.

B.J. Hill is officially inactive

It was unlikely for Hill to play this week. He hasn't practiced in two weeks since suffering his hamstring injury the same day Rankins suffered his. Hill was seen stretching before Sunday's game with the team, but he'll have to watch the game from the sidelines for at least another week.

The Bengals' defensive tackle room is still incredibly thin with starters Zach Carter and Jay Tufele leading the way in front of rookie second-round pick Kris Jenkins Jr. and recently-acquired Lawrence Guy Sr.
