The Cincinnati Bengals will try to win their third straight game this afternoon. Let's see who will NOT suit up in today's game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Here are the Bengals' Week 8 inactives
- S Daijahn Anthony
- WR Tee Higgins
- DE Cedric Johnson
- TE Tanner McLachlan
- DT Jay Tufele
Higgins (quadricep) popped up on Friday's injury report and was limited. Suffering a soft tissue injury so close to game day made it unlikely for Higgins to suit up today. This will be the third game the fifth-year receiver will miss this season. A hamstring injury took him out of Weeks 1 and 2.
Who will step up for Bengals without Tee Higgins
The Bengals' offense took a big step forward when Higgins returned from his hamstring injury in Week 3, but they've only scored four touchdowns in the last two weeks with him on the field. Now they'll be tasked to put up more points without him against an impressive Eagles offense.
Higgins is the only receiver inactive, which means Trenton Irwin and Jermaine Burton will have to step in for Higgins throughout the day with starters Ja'Marr Chase and Andrei Iosivas doing their part as well. Burton has only been targeted two times this season (both were in Week 2) and caught one of them for a 47-yard reception. Irwin has just two receptions for 11 yards this season.
Of the other four inactives, Anthony is the only real surprise as he's typically dressed as a reserve safety this season. Geno Stone is active after suffering a shin injury last Sunday, and the Bengals will have just Tycen Anderson and Jordan Battle backing him and Vonn Bell up at the position.
