CBS Sports recently named the greatest team in each franchise's history (during the Super Bowl era) and you don't have to go back very far to find the Cincinnati Bengals' best team.
Bryan DeArdo, an NFL writer for CBS Sports, listed the 2021 Bengals as the best team in franchise history.
Led by Joe Burrow, the Bengals went from a 4-11-1 outfit in 2020 to AFC champions in 2021. The NFL's Comeback Player of the Year, Burrow led the NFL in completion percentage during the regular season. He took full advantage of arguably the league's best receiving trio, led by Offensive Rookie of the Year J'Marr Chase. Late in the regular season, the Bengals' offense put 41 and 34 points against the Ravens and Chiefs in consecutive games en route to clinching the AFC North division crown.

This is an interesting choice, but it says more about what the Bengals have gone through as a franchise than it says about Cincinnati's squad last season.
The Bengals were good last year during the regular season, but not great. They barely won the AFC North. And their porous offensive line made life tough for quarterback Joe Burrow.
But the team went on a memorable run in the playoffs that almost resulted in the Bengals' first Super Bowl championship.
The good news for Cincy is that the future is incredibly bright with Burrow and wide receiver Ja'Marrr Chase in town. The Bengals should be one of the favorites in the AFC this season after some badly needed offseason improvements (specifically the offensive line).
If everything goes to plan, the 2022 Bengals will be replacing the 2021 Bengals on this list next year.
