Joe Burrow was sacked 70 times over the entire course of the 2021 season. That automatically requires a level of toughness that few possess.
So it shouldn't be too much of a surprise Burrow didn't give a damn when he tore his ACL in 2020.
The Cincinnati Bengals recently came out with a video entitled, The Season: The Cincinnati Bengals Run to Super Bowl LVI. It's a team-produced, 32-minute long video that encapsulates the 2022 season.
But before it gets to the Bengals' division-clinching season, the video goes back to when Burrow tore his ACL in Week 11 of the 2020 season.
It didn't take long for Zac Taylor to drop some pretty intriguing insight into the whole situation with Burrow and his season-ending injury.
"One thing that stood out for Joe is on the bus ride from the Washington field to the airport," says Taylor. "You know, he's laid out, he's just torn his ACL. It's a very difficult moment for everybody. Him worse probably than anyone else.
"And the first question he asks me is, 'What did Washington do in the second half?'".
I mean, what can you say? Burrow is a different breed.
"Football is a violent game," Burrow says to the camera. "Everyone goes into it understanding that you're gonna get some bumps and bruises along the way. We were just getting rolling when I got hurt. So, it was tough [for it] to happen when it happened. But, you know, it's just going to make me stronger."
And his teammates -both former and current- know that; as well.
"He always bounces back from adversity, from challenges," former teammate Terry MacLaurin said in an interview with ESPN. "He attacks them head on… and watch out, because he's a guy who every time he gets knocked down he gets back up a little stronger."
The dude was more worried about his team winning than his inability to literally use one of his legs.
Just add this to the ever-growing legend of Burrow.
