The Cincinnati Bengals officially out-waited out the Dallas Cowboys.
On Thursday, it was reported that the Cowboys are planning to release offensive lineman La'el Collins, saving $10 million in the process.
Collins is an obvious fit for the Bengals, who are in need of a right tackle. Collins, a former LSU standout, was coached by Cincinnati offensive line coach Frank Pollack when both were in Dallas together from 2015 to 2017.

The Cowboys wanted to trade Collins, but they couldn't find a trade partner — even though Dallas reportedly was only looking for a late-round pick.
Not finding a trade partner was likely due to the size of his contract. But now that Collins has been released, the Bengals can work something out with the Baton Rouge native that's a bit more economical.
Collins will have plenty of suitors, but the Bengals could be the most attractive option thanks to the presence of Joe Burrow.
Not only is Burrow already one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, but he also shares an LSU connection with Collins. The two never played together at LSU, but that connection, combined with the fact that it's Joe Burrow and it seems like everyone wants to play with Joe Burrow, should put the Bengals in a strong position to sign Collins.
Cincinnati's had a great offseason so far, thanks to a couple of key offensive line additions in Alex Cappa and Ted Karras. Adding Collins could be what takes this team over the top.
