Former Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer is wrapped up in one of the biggest controversies currently surrounding the NFL.

And it's not Palmer's fault.

On Thursday, Pro Football Talk reported on the House Oversight Committee report that's focused on an investigation of the Washington Commanders.

This investigation is the one that revealed the racist emails sent by former NFL head coach Jon Gruden during the time he worked at ESPN in between his jobs with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Las Vegas Raiders.

According to Pro Football Talk, in 2012, Gruden sent an email that said "Raiders suck" and then called Palmer "another USC p—-".

Palmer was in his second and final season with the Raiders when Gruden sent that email. The former Bengals quarterback passed for over 4,000 yards in 2012 — one of six times that Palmer passed for over 4,000 yards in his 15-year career.

I'm not sure what issue Gruden had with Palmer having a solid season.

Ultimately, it sounds like Gruden was just a bitter dude that was intent on attacking whoever he wanted, whenever he wanted.

Palmer, unfortunately, was wrapped up in the madness. But fortunately for him, he's just the recipient of some criticism from Gruden. And I don't think anyone is putting much weight into anything Gruden says at this point.
