Finally, a Thursday Night Football game worth watching.

The Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens meet under the lights for the third time in the last 13 months. Each team is coming off last-second losses that ended four-game win streaks, and important injuries will impact both rosters on a short week. Did we mention there are huge AFC North and playoff implications as well?

Under the road lights

For as much as the Bengals have accomplished in the past few years, a road primetime victory has yet to be achieved. They are the only team in the last decade to not win a night game outside of their home stadium, and their opponent is 12-2 in these games at home during the same timeframe.

Look no further than last year when the Bengals lost at the gun, 19-17, to the Ravens on Sunday Night Football in the Charm City. This is not the Bengals' forte, no matter how many narratives they've snuffed out.

There's never been a better time to break it, as their chances of defending the AFC North crown depends on the trend being bucked.

Standings outlook

Losing to the Houston Texans last week put the Bengals a full game behind everyone else in the AFC North, and 1.5 games behind the Ravens. A win would ensure a 6-4 record to match one of the Pittsburgh Steelers or Cleveland Browns, depending on how that AFC North matchup unfolds this Sunday (assuming no tie). It would also put Cincinnati just a half-game back from Baltimore.

The Bengals do not have a current spot in the AFC Playoff Picture, but they're right on the edge with the No. 8 spot in the conference standings.
