Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase is a Pro Bowler once again.

Chase, who led all AFC wideouts in fan balloting, has officially been voted in for the 2026 Pro Bowl Games.

Chase has now made the Pro Bowl in each of his first five seasons in Cincinnati. He’s posted 110 receptions, 1,256 receiving yards, and five touchdowns through the 14 games he’s played so far this year, and just caught nine passes for 109 yards during Sunday’s win over the Miami Dolphins.

Five Pro Bowls to start a career is rare, but the Bengals watched this happen with the receiver who was replaced by Chase in 2021. It’s only fitting he’s filling he’s following that legacy.

Ja’Marr Chase is still directly following A.J. Green’s Pro Bowl legacy

There have been five players in Bengals history to earn at least five Pro Bowl nods, but only two were voted to five in the first five years of their careers.

Chase is the latest, but A.J. Green was the first.

Green went to seven consecutive Pro Bowls from his rookie season in 2011 to his seventh year in 2017. He’s just one of 20 players in NFL history to earn seven Pro Bowl honors in his first seven seasons. The only active players on that list are Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill, and Indianapolis Colts guard Quenton Nelson. Nelson’s streak is still ongoing as he was officially announced as an eight-time Pro Bowler Tuesday.

Green’s streak ended in 2018 after he missed half of the season due to a toe injury. He then missed all of 2019 due to an ankle injury, but played a final full season for Cincinnati in 2020. His departure after the start of the decade opened a spot for the Bengals to draft Chase with the No. 5 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

The rest is history in the making.

Green played 76 regular season games in his first five seasons, which is the same number of games Chase has played with his fifth season still in progress. Chase has 90 more receptions, 510 more receiving yards, and six more touchdowns compared to when his predecessor was at the same exact point in his career. He also earned First Team All-Pro honors in 2024, an accolade that alluded Green during his entire 11-year career.

Chase is still chasing Green’s Pro Bowls and needs two more over the next two seasons to officially catch him. He’s caught him in practically everything else, so no one should be surprised when that happens.
