The Cincinnati Bengals are just a day away from taking on the Baltimore Ravens on Thanksgiving night, and they now have their starting quarterback on the roster.

Cincinnati is officially activating QB Joe Burrow to the roster from the Reserve/Injured list.

Burrow, who had been on I.R. since Sept. 16 with his turf toe injury. He was designated for return and returned to practice on Nov. 10, and had until Dec. 1 to be fully activated before the three-week window expired.

Burrow has had multiple full practices since last week and was close to making his return this past Sunday against the New England Patriots. Thursday’s game was the one he had circled in his mind, and this move brings it to life. He’s also not the only player making his return this week.

Bengals are getting more than just Joe Burrow back

Safety Daijahn Anthony is also joining the roster from I.R. He was placed on the list all the way back on Aug. 26 right before final cuts were made. He was designated to return on that same day along with Cedric Johnson, who has been back on the roster since Oct. 31.

Anthony had been recovering from a hamstring injury and was cleared to practice on Nov. 19. He was a full participant in every practice since being cleared.

To make room for Anthony, cornerback Marco Wilson is now going on I.R. as the corresponding move to ensure the roster stays at its 53-player maximum. Wilson suffered a hamstring injury in Week 12 against New England after only playing one snap and missed the rest of the game. He will now miss at least the next four weeks and can return for Cincinnati’s Week 17 game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Anthony may be listed as a safety, but most of his 12 defensive snaps from his rookie season in 2024 were at cornerback. He can replace the depth that Wilson provided at the position as the Bengals have four healthy safeties on the roster already.
