For the first time in his career, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is the AFC Offensive Player of the Month.

Burrow was named the winner for the month of November this week after completing 89 of 145 passes for 1,035 yards and 12 touchdowns in Cincinnati's three games during the month.

November saw Burrow become the first quarterback in franchise history to pass for 12 touchdowns over a span of three games, per Bengals.com. Two of the games were on the road under primetime lights.

Not only is the first Player of the Month honor for Burrow, he's the first Bengals player to win the Offensive version of the award since his predecessor Andy Dalton won it all the way back in 2015. Dalton won the award for October of that season by completing 69 of 101 passes for 895 yards and six touchdowns in three games.

Dalton's Bengals were winners in all three of those games. Burrow's Bengals went just 1-2 despite his outstanding numbers.

After beating the Las Vegas Raiders to start the month thanks to Burrow's five touchdown passes, the Bengals' defense collapsed against the Baltimore Ravens and Los Angeles Chargers the following two weeks in crushing defeats. Burrow became the first quarterback in NFL history to throw for 300 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions in back-to-back games and lose both in regulation.

If that doesn't sum up the Bengals' season in a nutshell, nothing does.

Burrow out-producing the likes of Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, and Lamar Jackson is supposed to make Bengals fan feel an undeniable sense of hope. He's the main ingredient for Cincinnati to finally win a Super Bowl.

And yet, his outstanding play instills a sense of depression knowing the rest of the franchise can't seem to match his competence. The team is 4-8 and have yet to beat a team with a winning record despite an MVP-caliber season from the quarterback.

The Bengals can promote their QB taking home impressive hardware all they want, it's not going to make their fans feel any better about the situation at hand.
