Considering "what if" moments is never smart for NFL fans. You're just going to create more pain for yourself in those instances.

The latest scenario for the Cincinnati Bengals came to light via legendary tight end Rob Gronkowski.

Burrow and Gronk

Gronk discussed the Bengals quarterback and a comical interaction with him following Gronkowski's retirement. He even said that he'd choose to play with Burrow, if it wasn't for Tom Brady, during his playing days.

“I kinda like this young buck quarterback. He’s in the Super Bowl now: It’s Joe Burrow, man,” Gronkowski said, via Chris Mason of masslive.com. “I watched him in college. I just love the way he presents himself out on the football field. In the pocket, he’s just so calm, and he just slings it out on the field.

“I just love his swag, too. If I had to pick a quarterback it’d be the young buck Joe Burrow. He’s killing it right now in the game.” — Gronkowski on Burrow

The former NFL stud talked about his relationship with Burrow on an episode for the DudesOnDudes podcast, and social media has taken the story to new heights recently.

The future Hall of Fame tight end also talked about "ghosting" Burrow, basically by accident, when the quarterback hit him up via text. The Bengals star was trying to recruit Gronk, but the TE did not believe that it was actually him.

For Bengals fans, it may be a bit of a facepalm moment because Burrow truly didn't do anything wrong. He just wanted to play with one of the best tight ends of all-time after hearing Cronk's praise of his demeanor and play on the field.

Now, we'll never see Gronk rock the orange and black in Cincy.
