Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow officially suffered a toe injury against the Jacksonville Jaguars and is now OUT for the rest of the game.

Burrow was originally questionable to return, but has since been declared out.

Burrow was sacked with 9:02 remaining in the second quarter when Arik Armstead appeared to land on his left ankle. Burrow went down to the ground after initially getting up and left the field under his own power.

Trainers then took Burrow to the blue medical tent on the sidelines.

Burrow then left the tent and walked to the Bengals’ locker room, eventually needing assistance to get inside.

Burrow was replaced by backup Jake Browning for the rest of the second half. The former undrafted free agent went four-of-seven for 46 yards with an interception to close the second quarter while Burrow was getting an MRI. That’s when it was confirmed what Burrow’s injury was.

It was not ideal for Burrow to be questionable to return, but it was better than the alternative, which was him being confirmed out for the game. Burrow has suffered two season-ending injuries in his career thus far: A torn ACL in 2020 and torn ligaments in his right wrist in 2023.

Browning started the second half under center and conducted a touchdown drive, connecting with Mitchell Tinsley for a 13-yard score.

Per FOX19’s Joe Danneman, Burrow was seen using a one-legged scooter to move around, preventing any weight from being put on his left leg.

Browning will finish the game, and Cincinnati will have to figure out how bad Burrow’s toe injury really is.
