The Cincinnati Bengals are looking to send 2023 out with a bang by defeating the Kansas City Chiefs on the road. That will be a much easier task if wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase plays.
For the first time in nearly two weeks, Chase practiced with the Bengals.
Chase has missed the Bengals' last four practices and their Week 16 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers since suffering an AC joint sprain in Week 15 against the Minnesota Vikings. He was seen going through drills on the team's rehab field on Wednesday, but was a non-participant.
Every member of the Bengals' active roster was practicing Thursday, and that doesn't include cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt, who was cleared to practice Wednesday but still has to be activated off the Reserve/Injured list.
With just a few days remaining until Sunday's pivotal showdown in Kansas City, the Bengals appear to be as close to full strength as they can be. But Chase isn't ready to make any declarations about his status for Sunday. It's looking like he'll be a game-time decision.
"I'll let Zac [Taylor] know hours before the game," Chase told reporters after practice.
Chase was officially limited in his first practice back, as was cornerback Jalen Davis (groin) and tight end Mitchell Wilcox (foot). Wilcox was a full participant Wednesday, so this is a new injury for him.
