Cincinnati Bengals fans won't get to see their team clinch a playoff berth this weekend, but they'll at least get to watch one of the best wide receivers in all of football suit up.
Ja'Marr Chase, who says he's at 73 percent health wise with his shoulder injury, told media members following Thursday's practice that he will indeed play in Week 18 against the Cleveland Browns.
Chase knew he was playing from the start of this, telling quarterback Jake Browning and the rest of his teammates prior to their final week of practice. His words helped set the tone in Browning's eyes.
"I've been on teams where, you know, maybe you're not getting everybody's best effort in this situation or seeing teams where that's definitely the case and I don't think that's the case here," Browning said. "Just the fact that beginning of this week Ja'Marr [Chase] says 'No, I'm playing.' And everybody's like, here we go. Let's lock in, let's finish this thing right."
Chase was a full participant Thursday despite claiming he's 27% less than fully healthy. Browning was also full participant as he popped up with a foot injury, and cornerback Jalen Davis (groin) went full as well.
Wide receiver Tee Higgins (hamstring) was once again a DNP. Higgins fought through his injury last Sunday, but with the playoffs out of reach, it would be smart of Higgins to sit this one out. He's scheduled to hit free agency for the first time this offseason.
Running back and Pro Bowl first alternate Joe Mixon (illness) was also not practicing. Cornerback Chidobe Awuzie (shoulder) was the only player to go limited Thursday.
