Before Joe Burrow took the Cincinnati Bengals to the Super Bowl, he led the Bayou Bengals to a win in the College Football Playoff championship game.
Burrow became a legend during his days at LSU. His incredible offensive season in 2019 (5,671 yards, 60 touchdowns, 6 interceptions) could be the best year ever for a college quarterback.
It wasn't just Burrow's stats, though, that made him a legend in Baton Rouge. Burrow's ability to lead — via whatever means necessary — was well documented during his time at LSU.
Part of the reason Burrow was such a great leader for the Tigers was because of the respect he earned from other players.
Burrow keeps his head down and works hard. He leads by example, not by being the loudest guy on the field. But he's also not afraid to cause a commotion when necessary.
And one day at LSU during a random practice, it was necessary to start a ruckus.
Former LSU linebacker Patrick Queen, who now plays for the Baltimore Ravens, told a story this week about Burrow taking on several members of the Tigers' defense after taking a late hit (from Queen).

Burrow is as tough as it gets. He's never going to back down. And that's something that teammates — college and NFL — respect.
