There was plenty of trash talk and bulletin board material exchanged between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Kansas City Chiefs ahead of the AFC Championship game this past weekend.
That trash talk, however, didn't extend to Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Those two have a lot of respect for each other and it was evident in their post-game handshake/huge.
NFL films caught the post-game meeting between the two superstar quarterbacks and you could easily hear what was said.
"Many more, dog, many more," said Mahomes as he hugged Burrow. "Hell of a game. You have a hell of a career dog."
"You too, brother," said an obviously disappointed Burrow. "Go win it now."
It's going to be a lot of fun watching these two battle it out for the next decade. It feels like this is essentially the NFL's new version of Tom Brady vs Peyton Manning.
The good news is that Cincinnati and Kansas City are scheduled to play (at Arrowhead) during the 2023 regular season. So there's a solid chance we get two matchups (if they meet in the playoffs) between these two quarterbacks again next season.
