NFL.com thinks one of the Cincinnati Bengals' day three draft selections could potentially start as a rookie this upcoming season.
North Dakota State offensive lineman Cordell Volson was drafted by the Bengals in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft (No. 136 overall).
Volson was a three-time All-MVFC first team member while winning four FCS national championships during his time with the Bison.
And NFL.com thinks he could possibly work his way into Cincinnati's starting lineup at some point in 2022.
The Bengals' guard play was poor in 2021, and signing Alex Cappa away from Tampa Bay only solved half the problem. The team was close to winning it all last year and will not have patience for lapses from 2021 second-round pick Jackson Carman or veteran Hakeem Adeniji — especially if Volson's intelligence and determination as a blocker turns heads in training camp. Volson also has experience at tackle, so it would not be shocking if he got the call should Jonah Williams or La'el Collins be sidelined.

Jackson Carman will get the first shot to be Cincinnati's starting left guard in 2022. Carman, a former Clemson standout, was a second-round pick by the Bengals in 2021. But that doesn't mean he has the job locked down.
If Carman falters, Volson could end up end up stepping into the starting left guard role.
Regardless of wins the job, there's no doubt that Cincinnati's offensive line is in much better shape than it was a season ago. There's talent and depth now. Not much more you could ask for from the front office if you're quarterback Joe Burrow.
