Bengals find themselves back in the middle of a popular fan theory following Super Bowl LXI logo reveal
Here we go again with the Super Bowl logo.
The end of one Super Bowl always introduces us to what’s to come in a year’s time when the next NFL championship arrives.
Move aside Super Bowl LX. The logo for Super Bowl LXI, which will be played in Los Angeles, CA, is here in all its glory!
Why does the logo of the next Super Bowl matter? It really doesn’t, but we love conspiracy theories and there’s a widespread theory involving the colors of the logo. Because past Super Bowl matchups have featured teams with matching colors of the game’s logo, fans have used the new logo reveal as a chance to predict which matchup is next.
That takes to the reveal of the Super Bowl LXI logo that is half orange, and thus, the Cincinnati Bengals are now in the conversation.
Super Bowl LXI logo is calling for the Bengals
As one of four teams with orange in their uniforms and logo, the Bengals are one of the subject teams in figuring out the AFC-NFC bout in Super Bowl LXI next year.
The Chicago Bears, Cleveland Browns, and Denver Broncos are also in the picture as fellow orange teams. The other dominant colors in the logo are various shades of blue and teal. The Jacksonville Jaguars, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles, and Seattle Seahawks all qualify aesthetically.
Super Bowl logos were once unique and colorful illustrations before reverting to a more standardized format starting with Super Bowl XLV in 2011. Super Bowl LVI in 2022 saw a return to colorful deviations with the “LVI” numerals colored with orange and gold. This was the Super Bowl played between the Bengals and Los Angeles Rams, and it was also played in L.A.
Super Bowl LVII featured a green and red logo and eventually played host for the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers played in Super Bowl LVIII when the logo featured red once again, and Kansas City lost to Philadelphia in Super Bowl LIX, which had red and green in the logo once more.
Sunday’s Super Bowl LX featured a plethora of colors, including blue, green, and red for the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks.
Bengals have average odds to make it back to the Super Bowl
After three consecutive years without making the playoffs, the Bengals face their lowest Super Bowl odds since prior to the season they nearly won it all five years ago. Cincinnati is 25-1 to win Super Bowl LXI according to DraftKings Sportsbook, which ranks 16th in the NFL. Only the Baltimore Ravens (13-1) have better odds of winning among AFC North clubs.
The Bengals were 20-1 to win the Super Bowl before the 2025 season, 13-1 before 2024, 10-1 before 2023, and nearly 21-1 before 2022. They were 150-1(!) before 2021, and nearly pulled it off.
If you buy the conspiracy, then you already have a pretty good idea who’s gunning for Super Bowl LXI. Cincinnati will look to continue its validity, and overcome long odds to get it done.
