Ronnie Harrison Jr. is visiting the Indianapolis Colts today and will do a workout for the team.
Harrison, like DE Jadeveon Clowney, both remains unsigned free agents that played significantly for the Browns last season. Harrison started five of the 16 games he played during the 2023 season with Cleveland.
As the season went on last year, Harrison’s role with the defense shrunk after starting 11 of his 12 games the previous season. In 2022, Harrison had 24 tackles and a half-sack. Each of the previous two seasons he was able to intercept a pass with the Browns.
Cleveland traded a fifth-round pick to the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2020 to bring Harrison over. The Browns lacked safety depth with an injury to Grant Delpit at the time and needed someone to fill in.
Overall, during his time with the Browns, Harrison made 23 starts in the three seasons. In 39 games played, the former third-round pick made 120 tackles, two interceptions, and 2.5 sacks in Cleveland.
Harrison’s strength is being a box safety up close to the line of scrimmage. The Colts are in need of safety help with both starters currently injured and missing time.
UPDATE: Colts are signing Harrison to a one-year deal.
