There is a crazy chance that Aaron Rodgers is going to return this year after an Achilles injury and if he does the Cleveland Browns will likely face him.

Rodgers is targeting a mid-December return, according to the report below. Cleveland hosts the Jets on Dec. 28 in Week 17 on Thursday Night Football.

At 39 years old, it would be pretty bizarre if Rodgers can return after popping his Achilles in Week 1. It was an unfortunate injury just a couple of plays into the season that has left the Jets having to start Zach Wilson under center.

Still, the Jets remain 4-5 despite putrid quarterback play thanks to a very good defense. New York has wins over the Eagles and Bills on the season. If New York is out of playoff contention or close to it come mid-December, the return may wait until next year.

If Rodgers does return, Cleveland is going to be playing a Jets team that is much better than they are with Wilson at quarterback. Cleveland’s defense is one of the best if not the best in the NFL, so Rodgers would have that to look forward to if he does return.

Perhaps Myles Garrett and Co. will get their shot at Rodgers late in the season. It could come at a pivotal time with playoff spots on the line, we’ll see.
