When the Cleveland Browns lost to the LA Rams, it may have been with a different quarterback, but it still was a familiar result.

When the Browns play at home, the team is 5-1. When that same team plays on the road, it boasts a 2-4 record.

If Cleveland is going to be taken seriously in the AFC, it comes down to learning how to win football games on the road.

Part of the team's struggles on the road has been the quarterback situation. But if it was just that one position, the issue of winning games would follow the Browns at home.

That isn't the case.

The reason behind the Browns' road struggles has been the defense, which seems to lack the same level of ferocity when playing in opposing teams' stadiums.

Against the Rams, the Browns' defense didn't record a sack. They also only forced two quarterback hurries. Also, the imposing defense could muster a measly one tackle for loss and two passes defended.

Those are the same struggles that presented themselves against the Denver Broncos, where Russell Wilson carved up the Browns and led to another road loss.

If the Browns want to make a Cinderella playoff push, it will start by winning road football games. And to do so means the defense can't take Sundays away from home off.
