Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper has been able to make it happen with different quarterbacks through his tenure with the team and Week 13 will be another opportunity to do that.
With Dorian Thompson-Robinson out with a concussion and not practicing on Wednesday and Thursday, the Browns will turn to veteran quarterback Joe Flacco to man the duties against the Los Angeles Rams.
Flacco has been able to take first-team reps with the team this week and Cooper gave a pretty good review of how he sees the 38-year-old quarterback at this point in his career.
“He looks good,” Cooper said. “He throws a very pretty ball. I don’t know if it’s intentional or what, but when he drops back and he lets it go, the whole motion is like poetry in motion. It looks good.”
This season, Cooper has 765 receiving yards and two touchdowns on 47 grabs. Cleveland’s No. 1 wideout is on pace for another 1,000-yard season and he’s set to play with his fourth different quarterback.
With Flacco, it’ll be about getting the timing right between the two. But with both being veteran NFL players, that shouldn’t raise much of an issue.
One thing that Cooper wants to see more of over the last six games is big plays.
“That’s what the game is about, making explosive plays and getting good field position so that we can score points,” Cooper said on Thursday.
Cleveland takes on Los Angeles at 4:25 p.m. ET on Sunday, where they’ll try to pick up win No. 8.
