Browns are set to meet with one of the more exciting NFL draft prospects who isn’t being connected to Cleveland enough
Browns are set to visit with one of the best defenders in the 2026 NFL Draft.
We’ve made it through the NFL Scouting Combine and the thick of the top free agency moves in the last few weeks. For the Cleveland Browns, much of the focus this offseason is on fixing the offense.
Cleveland operated with an elite defense last year and it didn’t matter much in the end when they finished 5-12. The Browns have two first-round picks and have clear holes at left tackle and wide receiver that they must address.
Still, the Browns are doing their homework on some of the better elite draft prospects on the defensive side.
The Browns are set to host a top safety prospect for a visit
The Toledo Rockets football program just continues to produce NFL talent. Safety Emmanuel McNeil-Warren is the latest Toledo product set to enter the NFL, and the Browns are going to hold a top-30 visit with him soon.
McNeil-Warren revealed Monday on Up & Adams that he’ll be meeting with the Browns soon, following a visit with the New England Patriots.
Emmanuel McNeil-Warren is the No. 2 safety according to most, behind only Ohio State’s Caleb Downs. The 6-foot-2, 202-pound safety can play center field and he can come up and lay a hit. McNeil-Warren has elite traits at safety, and though it’s not the biggest need for the Browns, he would level them up.
McNeil-Warren had 77 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, two interceptions, three forced fumbles, and a half sack in 13 games during the 2025 season. 48 college games played over four seasons is a terrific amount of college football experience.
Cleveland is set to bring back S Ronnie Hickman after putting a second-round tender on him. Grant Delpit is still playing at an above average level, but McNeil-Warren would immediately be the high-ceiling player in the room and the future at the position.
If the Browns want McNeil-Warren, they’d have to take him at No. 24 or No. 39 overall. Cleveland’s next pick doesn’t come until No. 70 overall and the Toledo product isn’t lasting that long.
