Cleveland Browns have been hit with another injury along the defense.

Cornerback Mike Ford has been ruled out of the preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles with a shoulder injury, per a team release.

Ford exited late in the first quarter of the game and was quickly ruled out.

Browns signed Ford this last offseason after he spent last season with the Atlanta Falcons. Ford is a notable special teams contributor and depth cornerback.

Before joining the Falcons, Ford was with the Denver Broncos in 2021. From 2018-20, Ford was with the Detroit Lions. Ford has started nine of 61 career games he’s played in.

When looking at the roster, Ford is hovering in the area of being the team’s fifth or sixth cornerback. With $925k guaranteed, Ford has a good shot at making the roster.

Cleveland will now lean on rookie CB Cam Mitchell a bit more, especially if Ford misses any extended time.
