It has been a carousel for the Cleveland Browns at the quarterback position this year and it could continue.
There is a very real chance that the Browns will move to Joe Flacco in Week 13 as the team’s starting quarterback against the Los Angeles Rams.
"I think there's a real possibility they could go to Joe Flacco this week," ESPN’s Adam Schefter said. "He's been impressive when he went in there and worked out."
Cleveland’s rookie QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson is in the concussion protocol and his status for Sunday is in doubt at this time. Last week, DTR showed some promise against the Denver Broncos after a rough start. The rookie recorded his first touchdown pass and did not turn the ball over.
P.J. Walker entered for the rookie following the injury and it was somewhat of a disaster. Walker fumbled a couple of times and the offense went stale, the Browns had no chance to win the game once Walker entered the game.
Flacco is in his second full week with the Browns and has had at least some time to get a grip on the offense. He is a longtime veteran in the NFL, he’s capable of coming in and picking things up. Flacco may be the team’s most consistent chance at winning, at this point.
"I think they might be comfortable with Flacco,” Schefter said. "I wouldn't rule it out that we could see him starting on Sunday."
When Deshaun Watson went down for the season, the Browns season took a hit. Making the playoffs isn’t going to be easy, but they’re still sitting in a good spot at 7-4. If the Browns can win three of the remaining six games, they’ll surely be in.
