Cleveland Browns are at a crossroads where there has to be a bit of worry that they’re going to lose a very important piece of their coaching staff.
A domino has fallen with the Cincinnati Bengals losing their offensive coordinator to the Tennessee Titans to become their next head coach.
With that happening, there is plenty of talk in the air that he will bring his dad into the staff that he is going to create down in Tennessee.
Bill Callahan has been vital to the Browns as the offensive line coach for the last four seasons. He has been on the staff since Kevin Stefanski became the head coach in Cleveland. During that time, the offensive line has been a major strength for the Browns, and Callahan’s coaching is a big piece to it.
Cleveland’s offensive line has had great talent the last few years but injuries have struck too. They’ve had to throw depth in many times and almost each time that depth has been more than ready. Callahan’s development of offensive line pieces is extraordinary.
The Titans have had offensive line struggles recently and Callahan going in and strengthening things makes a ton of sense. When you add in the opportunity for Callahan to be able to go work with his son, it would be hard to turn down.
We will learn more over the next few days. It would be wise for Cleveland to have a plan in place because they may have to say goodbye to their offensive line guru.
