The Shedeur Sanders fall is finally over, and he will be a Cleveland Brown after all. It's not how many people expected in the pre-draft process, but the Browns decided to select him early in the fifth round after trading up to pick 144.
Now, the Browns have five quarterbacks on the 90-man roster. And even if you consider that Deshaun Watson might spend the entire season on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list, four signal-callers have a real shot at making the 53-man roster: Kenny Pickett, Joe Flacco, and the two draft picks, Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders.
During the draft broadcast, NFL insider Ian Rapoport said that everything outside of Watson is up for grabs in the Browns' quarterback room. Cleveland is using the selection as a lottery ticket.
“Shedeur is a really impressive young man," Browns general manager Andrew Barry had said at the NFL Combine. "He's poised, he's calm, he's smart, and you can tell that he's been raised by, quite honestly, a Hall of Fame dad. We're going to get to know him even more over the course of the spring but he’s really impressive."

He has the relentless work ethic of his father, Deion Sanders, and enough athleticism and talent to become a good starting quarterback in the NFL.
