Day 1 of the 2025 NFL Draft is in the books and it was an interesting one for the Cleveland Browns.
In the last few weeks, it was widely thought that the Browns would be taking Travis Hunter. That didn’t happen, and Cleveland traded out with the Jacksonville Jaguars to take Mason Graham at No. 5 overall.
An extra second round was picked up by the Browns and that is valuable. Cleveland has an additional first-round pick to look forward to next year as well. Now get to a Day 2 mock draft.
Round 2, Pick 33: Alabama QB Jalen Milroe
Cleveland opted not to take a first-round quarterback and the board fell to where they didn’t need to. The Browns have options here and they’re in a place with Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett on the roster where they don’t need to play the rookie right away. Jalen Milroe has the best physical tools at QB in the draft and the highest ceiling.
Round 2, Pick 36: Missouri WR Luther Burden
If the character concerns were not there, Burden probably wouldn’t be on the board still. If Burden doesn’t go to the Tennessee Titans, the Browns should jump on selecting Burden. An explosive playmaker with the ball in his hands and Cleveland needs that on offense.
Round 3, Pick 67: Ohio State RB Quinshon Judkins
I’ve said it for the last few months, the Browns have to find a starting-caliber running back in this draft. Judkins produced at a high level in the SEC and Big Ten and fits just what the Browns need. A running back that can run through you, but is fast enough to break some long runs. Judkins is a good pass blocker and can stay on the field for three downs.
Round 3, Pick 94: Ole Miss DE Jared Ivey
Cleveland adding Graham and that’s great for the Browns defensive line. Still, Cleveland needs more in the line and Ivey can bring that. A big defensive end who improved and produced steadily in the SEC.
