Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson finally had that game everyone was waiting for in Week 3.
Watson had his best game as a member of the Browns on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans. Watson went 27-for-33 passing to go along with 289 passing yards and two touchdowns. It was a world of difference from Week 2 in Pittsburgh.
Following the game, Watson had the answer for how things changed from week to week.
“Just responding, just being able to take what the defense gives us,” Watson said on Sunday. “Don’t try to do too much. And last week, we didn’t start well. So of course, trying to press on and get that seven points back early on was not what we wanted to do.”
Watson had two turnovers that went for a touchdown against the Steelers, as well as another that changed possession.
“We came in this week and we just took it one play at a time and whatever I can do to get completions. And the completions are really good for not just myself, but for the O line, for the receivers, and for Kevin (Stefanski) calling plays. So just trying to do that and just keep building on and learning from this tape.”
Last week, Watson faced a ton of scrutiny for his play, and probably rightfully so. It wasn’t anything that he didn’t expect, as he knows it comes with his job.
“I mean, of course. Like I said before, it comes with the territory, but too much is given, much is required,” explained Watson. “And I’ve always lived by that on and off the field. And being able to come out here, I knew the fans were going to come and support us. That’s what the Cleveland Browns are.”
Following Week 3, it would be huge if Watson could build off of the positives and play well against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 4.
