Cleveland Browns are all too familiar with what just happened to the Cincinnati Bengals.

Star quarterback Joe Burrow is out for the season with a torn ligament in his wrist. Cleveland just lost Deshaun Watson for the season a couple of days ago, so the AFC North has been hit hard at quarterback.

However, the Browns sit at 6-3 and the Bengals are 5-5, Cleveland has an opportunity in front of them. In the AFC, the Browns are a team that could take advantage of the unfortunate news.

Cleveland has already had to play with poor quarterback play and backups for a good stretch of the season. The Browns are essentially 2-2 while playing a backup this season. Their advantage has been having a tenacious defense that is probably the best in the NFL.

Burrow is a franchise quarterback and one of the better pig skin throwers the game has today. With the Bengals losing him, they’re losing a ton with having to turn to backup Jake Browning. Cincinnati’s offense has already had a rough time at points this season, now they’ve lost their operator.

Cleveland currently holds the No. 6 seed in the AFC and a win over the Pittsburgh Sunday would mean a lot. The Browns have the No. 2 ranked rushing offense in the league to hang their hat on and pair with their defense.

If Cleveland can just get capable quarterback play, they’ll end up in the playoffs I firmly believe. The unfortunate news in Cincinnati may make the road a bit easier. The Browns travel to play the Bengals in Week 18.
