We are just a couple of days away from the 2025 NFL Draft and it’s a special draft for the Cleveland Browns because they once again have a first-round pick.

There’s no way the Browns expected they would be coming off of a 3-14 season when they got to pick again after paying their dues for Deshaun Watson. But here we are and the Browns have a big decision to make around the No. 2 overall pick in the draft. Miami QB Cam Ward is a near lock to go No. 1 overall to the Tennessee Titans.

Cleveland Browns fielding calls for their top draft pick

According to ESPN’s Peter Schrager, both the Browns and New York Giants are fielding calls from NFL teams regarding the No. 2 and No. 3 overall picks in the 2025 NFL Draft. The idea is that teams likely want to move up for either Colorado’s Travis Hunter or Penn State’s Abdul Carter.

All signs as of late have the Browns taking Hunter and Vegas agrees with that too. If the Browns were to trade out of the No. 2 pick, they would have to get at least the value that Hunter is out of it. That is tough to do in a draft like this one that isn’t deep with premier talent. Cleveland views Hunter as a wide receiver first and he can be a game-changer for their offense that struggled badly last season.

Carter is the top defender in the draft and is a great option to pair with Myles Garrett. Cleveland would be missing out on both of the players if they move back even if they do stay in the top-10.

The Browns aren’t making the calls and that is the key point here. Andrew Berry taking the calls is just due diligence at the end of the day. All eyes will be on the Browns until they make that pick at No. 2.
