The Cleveland Browns (1-3) will take on the Washington Commanders (3-1) in Week 5 and they’ll do it with a mixed bag of injuries.
On Friday, Cleveland ruled out linebacker Jordan Hicks, running back Nick Chubb, tackle James Hudson, running back Nyhiem Hines, and Alex Wright against Washington for Sunday.
Additionally, the Browns have marked tackle Jack Conklin, guard Michael Dunn, tight end David Njoku, running back Pierre Strong Jr., and left tackle Jedrick Wills Jr. as questionable to play against the Commanders.
With no injury designation, center Ethan Pocic will be able to give it a go with his ankle injury.
Week 5 will likely be the return date for Njoku, who has been out since the season opener against the Dallas Cowboys with a sprained Ankle. Conklin and Dunn could both possibly make their season debuts on Sunday, while Wills could potentially play in his second game. With Hudson out, one of the two tackles very well could be back. The Browns are placing Hudson on the injured reserve with his shoulder injury, according to head coach Kevin Stefasnki.
Cleveland will give Chubb and Hines at least another week before they put the running backs back on the field. There is no need to rush Chubb back when you factor in the severity of the injury that he had.
Hicks is a big loss for the Browns in the middle of their defense. The veteran linebacker has been playing well this season and was a strong point for the defense.
It is already known that the Browns have lost Wright for the season with a triceps injury that required surgery.
Browns’ Amari Cooper can help Cleveland in a big way this weekend and may result in him landing with a contender
A cloudy situation in Cleveland.
