Cleveland Browns have had plenty of dysfunction at quarterback this season, of course, that is nothing new to many fans.

When they thought they had it figured out with Deshaun Watson, he injured his shoulder and played just a portion of the season. They’ve turned to P.J. Walker and Dorian Thompson-Robinson, both of whom have won games. But the highest ceiling for the short term looks to be Joe Flacco.

Flacco operated the offense the best of the three and was able to push the ball downfield, something that Walker and DTR have struggled to do without turning it over.

At age 38, Flacco still has a very strong arm and showed that off in Week 13 vs. the Los Angeles Rams. Flacco completed only 23-of-44 passes but found 254 yards of offense through the air. The veteran quarterback had an interception deep and added a touchdown pass.

Though he wasn’t with the team long, Flacco was able to step in and make some throws that are up there with the best we’ve seen this season from a team in orange and brown.

At the end of the day, Flacco is 38 years old and is nearing the very end of his career. If he can make some throws and limit turnovers, he will give Cleveland a chance over the last five games of the season to reach the playoffs.

Thompson-Robinson is still out with a concussion at the moment, but allowing him to process the game behind Flacco is not the worst of ideas.
