In Week 3 action, the Cleveland Browns appear to be on the brink of some good news going into the matchup with the New York Giants.

Both offensive tackles Jack Conklin (knee) and Jedrick Wills Jr.(knee) are questionable to play against New York. It is the second straight week that Conklin has been listed as questionable and the first for Wills. One figures that at least Conklin will be given the green light this week.

On the not-so-good side of things, tight end David Njoku (ankle) and running back Pierre Strong Jr. (hamstring) are both out against the Giants.

Conklin practiced all three days this week and will make his season debut against the Giants. It had been since Week 1 of last season that Conklin has appeared in a game, as it was a long road recovering from the major knee surgery.

Cleveland will once again be without tight end Njoku, who was held out of practice this week with his sprained ankle. The star tight end will miss his second straight game and it will be another opportunity for Jordan Akins to step up and make an impact.

Strong down means that the Browns do not have a No. 3 running back healthy on the active roster. Expect Cleveland to call up running back Royce Freeman from the practice squad against the Giants.

Myles Garrett was held out of practice on Wednesday and Thursday but returned on Friday in preparation for the Giants. The reigning Defensive Player of the Year suffered the injury against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1 and has been held up a bit by it since. Garrett still managed to get a sack in Week 2’s win over Jacksonville.
