The Cleveland Browns’ 2023 season was quite the ride at their quarterback position.

The Browns had five different players make a start at the most important position in the game and they won a game with four different players.

Next season, the hope is that none of those issues come about and that Deshaun Watson is the guy for 17 games and beyond. On Monday, GM Andrew Berry provided an update on where Watson currently stands.

"Deshaun's progressing well,” Berry said. He's doing everything in his power in terms of rehab. We're really pleased with his progress so far and really forward to getting him back in Spring."

Watson played in six games for the Browns, one of them was just for two drives against the Indianapolis Colts. His final game was against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 10, the last game that the Ravens’ starters lost this season. It was during that game that Watson suffered a broken bone in his throwing shoulder.

"We'd all love to have him on the field more often. We're looking forward to getting him back, feel like he's going to have a big year next year,” Berry said.

Watson did show some flashes of being that guy the Browns want him to be in 2023, but he’s now played just 12 games in two seasons with Cleveland. Until he shows consistency in being a good quarterback, questions will stick on the blockbuster trade that the Browns made a couple of seasons ago.
