Life in Philadelphia isn't always sunny.

Recently, Philadelphia Eagles pass rusher Haason Reddick was permitted to seek a trade, indicating the end of his time as one of the Eagles' most productive defenders.

Reddick has notched double-digit sacks in the last four seasons, with his best year coming when the Eagles made the Super Bowl in 2022 with 16.

The Cleveland Browns now have a prime opportunity to add one of the league's best pass rushers for pennies on the dollar this offseason.

Cleveland may lose out on Za’Darius Smith, who is a pending free agent. Smith tallied 5.5 sacks himself during the 2023 season.

With one pass rusher ready to walk and another ready to hit the trade market, the decision for Browns general manager Andrew Berry is a clear one.

The season ended tumultuously in Philadelphia. The locker room was disjointed, and the Eagles bowed out of the playoffs in the wild-card round against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

It could be argued that if Cleveland had a more effective pass rusher against the Houston Texans, the Browns could have been the team playing the Ravens.

Insert Berry, who has a history with Eagles general manager Howie Roseman from their time together in Philadelphia in 2019, and it appears clear that Cleveland may have the inside track at making a move to add Reddick.

Working against the Browns is Cleveland's current cap situation. Moving money around is one of Berry's priorities during the offseason. However, landing one of the NFL's elite pass-rushing threats heading into his year 30 season ought to be the other.

Based on history and team needs, Reddick has to be a priority for the Browns.
