We’re past the thick of free agency and the majority of the big moves are out of the way around the NFL. For the Cleveland Browns, it’s been all about improving the offense.

Cleveland needed to put together as close to a starting offensive line as possible through free agency. Doing so opens the door for the Browns to best address their other needs once the NFL draft is here.

We’re in the time when pro days and top-30 visits are going on. The Browns just met with one of the top wide receivers who could be in the mix for them early on in the draft.

Browns meet with Louisville WR Chris Bell

Bell posted on his Instagram on Tuesday a photo from inside the Browns’ practice facility in Berea. It’s that time of year when teams are getting these draft prospects in for workouts, interviews, and to further check the medicals. The latter is the biggest worry with Bell.

Bell had 917 receiving yards and six touchdowns in 11 games with the Cardinals in 2025 before he suffered a torn ACL on Nov. 22. Before the injury, Bell was labeled as one of the top wide receivers coming out. Without any medical worries, you’re probably talking about a first-round player.

While at Louisville, Bell improved steadily as a four-year contributor. His yardage went as follows in his four seasons; 105, 407, 737, and 917. Bell is a strongly built at 6-foot-2, 222 pounds. Once Bell gets the ball in his hands, he has the ability to outrun the defense, and he’s tough to bring down.

Cleveland lacks a player like Bell and they need more in their passing game outside of WR Jerry Jeudy and TE Harold Fannin Jr. With no big wide receiver additions made, it’s key that the Browns spend a premium pick on the poison.

Bell is likely going to go in the second round, but it wouldn’t be a surprise if a team loved his profile enough to take him on Day 1. For the Browns, the ideal target would be at pick No. 39.
