The Cleveland Browns are turning over every stone to try to fix their quarterback problem this offseason.

Trading for Kenny Pickett from the Philadelphia Eagles was the first dart that the Browns threw at the board, and they’ll add at least two more quarterbacks to their roster.

Signing a veteran quarterback and drafting one are the two things left for the Browns to take care of. Many folks are curious if the Browns are going take a quarterback at No. 2 overall, or whether they will take one later and go best player available with their first pick.

Cleveland Browns set to host Louisville QB Tyler Shough for a top-30 visit

The Browns are bringing in one of the more polarizing quarterbacks in the draft for a visit with Tyler Shough set to visit with the team, per Mary Kay Cabot. Cleveland has already had Cam Ward, Shedeur Sanders, Abdul Carter, Travis Hunter, and Will Campbell in for a top 30 visit.

Shough is expected to be a Day 2 or 3 draft selection, so he would be a developmental project at best for the Browns. The problem is that Shough will turn 26 during his rookie season and played seven seasons of college football with just 42 starts. Durability is a real concern for Shough, who suffered multiple broken bones in college.

At 6-foot-6 and 220 pounds, Shough runs a low 4.6 40-yard dash and is a good athlete at the position. A player with good arm talent who can sling it all around the field. Shough’s best season was in 2024 when he recorded 3,195 passing yards, 23 touchdowns, and just six interceptions.

Cleveland is indeed keeping their options open in the 2025 NFL Draft, as they should. However, Shough could end up being a pick that isn’t widely accepted by the fanbase due to what the team’s quarterback room looks like.
