The year is 2023 and Joe Flacco is about to start a football game for the Cleveland Browns. You read that right.

In Week 13 against the Los Angeles Rams, the Browns will not have QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson, who is out with a concussion. Additionally, CB Denzel Ward (shoulder) will miss his second straight game.

With DTR out, P.J. Walker will be the backup to Flacco. The 38-year-old Flacco is making his first appearance in the NFL for the 2023 season.

Cleveland did not place Ward on the injured reserve, so that’s a good sign that he should be back next week potentially. The team not making the move shows that it is not a 4+ week injury. Still, it’s a blow to not have your No. 1 cornerback against the very talented Rams.

Along with Flacco up from the practice squad is CB A.J. Green. Green has spent the last couple of years with the Browns as a depth cornerback option. Green will provide depth with the loss of Ward.
