Injuries are a part of the game and they’ve beaten the Cleveland Browns down all season. Still, the Browns remain at 8-5 after defeating the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 14.
The game came with its injuries and worries on future availability coming out of the game. Before the game, S Juan Thornhill tweaked his calf and was ruled out. There was no second half for DT Jordan Elliott, who is now in concussion protocol. Nick Harris had to take over at center after Ethan Pocic left with a stinger.
Cleveland’s top safety Grant Delpit is dealing with a groin injury and RB Jerome Ford has a wrist injury. These are the two legit worries for the Browns.
Delpit was questionable to return to the game with a groin injury. The recently paid safety will have more tests done to see what the severity is. We will likely know more when head coach Kevin Stefanski gives an update to begin next week.
Ford was seen heading to the X-ray room after the game. That signals that they’re checking to see if anything is broken or fractured in the wrist. The second-year running back was on the sideline getting his wrist worked on before the game ended.
Other players shaken up included DE Za’Darius Smith and CB Cameron Mitchell.
Now, the Browns will have to wait and see what the verdict is for all of these injuries. In the thick of a playoff race, losing any more players for a significant time would be a big blow.
Browns win over Jaguars puts them in a unique group in NFL history
A wild stat for the Browns that we certainly didn’t see coming at the beginning of the year.
