The odds of your punter and kicker going down in the same game with an injury have to be low but that’s what happened to the Cleveland Browns last week.
Due to that, Cleveland will be without K Dustin Hopkins (hamstring) and likely P Corey Bojorquez (quad) who is doubtful to play against the New York Jets on Thursday Night Football.
Additionally, LB Anthony Walker Jr. (knee) and DE Ogbo Okoronkwo (pectoral) were ruled out as well. Questionable to play are WR Amari Cooper (heel), WR Marquise Goodwin (knee), and S Juan Thornhill (calf).
Cleveland will call up K Riley Patterson from the practice squad to handle the kicking and P Matt Haack will likely join him. The Browns signed both players to the practice squad at the beginning of the week.
Cooper being questionable is going to be a worry when you first see it, but I would be surprised if he doesn’t play. Browns will need Cooper against a very good Jets’ defense and perhaps he can carry over some of the production he had from last week’s monster showing he had.
In good news, Thornhill will likely return for the Browns after missing the last three games. The veteran safety practiced all week and will be welcomed back with S Grant Delpit sidelined on the injured reserve.
Cleveland is holding out hope that Okoronkwo is going to return and we’ll know more on that front next week.

It was a no brainer to happen for Amari Cooper.
