No one pictured that Joe Flacco would be starting a playoff game for the Cleveland Browns in just a few days, say two months ago.
But that is exactly what is going to happen and he has a chance to make something special happen when he does.
Currently, Flacco is tied with Tom Brady for road playoff wins in a career with seven. If the Browns can go on the road and defeat the Texans, it’ll give Flacco road playoff win No. 8 and the most in NFL history by a quarterback, per StatMuse.
“Anytime you get to be in the playoffs and win football games, there’s some part of you that takes pride in no matter where it is,” Flacco said on Tuesday.
Flacco has taken the league by storm in a way at 38 years old. The veteran quarterback is 4-1 as a starter with the Browns and has lit a fire underneath their passing attack. He’s thrown eight interceptions and a couple we’re on fluke plays, but the 13 touchdown passes are what stands out most. Also, Flacco is averaging north of 320 yards a game passing and that is tops in the NFL since he made his debut this season.
All seven previous road playoff wins were with the Ravens, a team he won his Super Bowl with over a decade ago. Now, Flacco has a chance to make NFL history with a team that he used to beat up on often over the years.
C.J. Stroud and the DeMeco Ryans-led Texans are going to be a tough game for the Browns, but it pays off in more ways than one if they can pull off the win.
Browns have the difference-maker against Texans who has already proven he’s a nightmare for them
They could not stop him the first go around.
