Week 7 is here with Thursday Night Football kicking off tonight and that means just a couple of days until the Cleveland Browns and Indianapolis Colts clash.
Cleveland is in their second day of practice for the week and they just received the best news. Quarterback Deshaun Watson will practice today for the first time in weeks. Watson last played in Week 3 against the Tennessee Titans when he bruised his rotator cuff.
“I think he's scheduled to get out there and make some throws,” said offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt. “It'll be good to get him out there with the guys.”
In more good news, no one is out today on the active roster. Cornerback Greg Newsome (hamstring) and linebacker Anthony Walker Jr. (concussion) both returned to the field.
Cleveland was able to get left guard Joel Bitonio back at practice yesterday. It was good news for the Browns, who saw his replacement Michael Dunn go to the injured reserve. After missing a game for the first time in seven seasons, Bitonio is on the path to be back out there in Week 7.
With Watson practicing, P.J. Walker continues to get reps as the backup. Walker got the win against the 49ers despite not playing all that well.
Watson practicing before Friday is a big-time positive, he will have at least two practices before a decision is made on whether he faces the Colts.
