Cleveland Browns didn’t walk into this season thinking that Dustin Hopkins would be what you can call a weapon but he certainly has been one.

Unfortunately, Hopkins is ‘week-to-week’ with a hamstring injury and has been ruled out for the Thursday Night Football game against the New York Jets already, according to Kevin Stefanski.

Additionally, rookie QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson has been placed on the season-ending injured reserve with a hip injury. Both players suffered these injuries in the last game against the Houston Texans.

With Hopkins out for at least a week, K Riley Patterson will come up from the practice squad and handle the kicking duties. Patterson is in his third year out of Memphis and appeared in 13 games for the Detroit Lions this season.

Cleveland brought back QB P.J. Walker from the practice squad to the active roster after losing their rookie quarterback.

Stefanski said ‘we’ll see’ when it comes to whether or not P Corey Bojorquez will be able to suit up against the Jets. Bojorquez has a quad injury. Cleveland signed P Matt Haack to the practice squad and he will do the punting if needed.

It is not ideal to have both your punter and kicker out in the same game, especially in the Browns’ case where both players have been exceptional.
