Cleveland Browns are most likely to play the Jacksonville Jaguars in two weeks and they’ve taken an untimely injury hit.
In Week 17’s win over the Carolina Panthers, Pro Bowl return man and wide receiver Jamal Agnew was lost for the season with a lower leg fracture.
Jacksonville had lost four games in a row before beating the Panthers and didn’t need this injury at the most important part of the season. Agnew has created two plays of at least 45 yards in the last three weeks and is a threat anytime he gets the ball in his hands.
On the season, Agnew is fifth on the team and receiving north of 200 yards and handles all returns.
Wideout Christian Kirk hasn’t played since Dec. 4 against the Bengals, so they’re thin at the wide receiver position. Tight end Evan Engram and wideout Calvin Ridley will continue to be a threat for Jacksonville.
Cleveland needs to worry about Cincinnati in Week 18 first, though the result will not matter when it comes to the playoffs. Jacksonville is in a win and in-game in Tennessee against the Titans next weekend.
The Browns are dealing with more than their fair share of injuries this season but they’ll be matching up against a team that is dealing with issues too, most likely.
3 teams remain a possibility for the Browns to face in the Wild Card
We’ll see which one that the Browns draw.
