Cleveland Browns have made an important move that will help their 2023 season goal in a big way.
By big, we mean the Browns have gone out and signed DT Shelby Harris. The Browns had a big need at defensive tackle alongside Dalvin Tomlinson and they’ve solved it.
After visiting with the Browns last week, Harris and Cleveland were able to come together on a deal that will be for one year. Harris started 15 games for the Seattle Seahawks last season and made 44 tackles and two sacks.
Cleveland did not have a proven defensive tackle past Tomlinson on the roster, at least in terms of starting quality. Harris gives them that, as he can come in and stop the run right away.
Before his time with the Seahawks, Harris spent five seasons with the Denver Broncos. He started 49 of his 75 games there and made 21.5 of his 24 sacks.
The Browns can now push Jordan Elliott to depth, which he is better suited for. Then, guys like Siaki Ika, Maurice Hurst, Trysten Hill, and Tommy Togiai can battle it out for the depth rotation.
A welcomed move for Cleveland that just had to come to fruition.
