Cleveland Browns are continuing with their top-30 visits and the latest name to come up is a decently polarizing offensive threat.
Western Kentucky WR Malachi Corley will visit with the team next week, according to Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz. Additionally, Corley has met with the Pittsburgh Steelers and is scheduled to see the Dallas Cowboys and Baltimore Ravens.
Why Malachi Corley is a polarizing NFL Draft prospect
There are split opinions on the player that Corley can be. A player that is built like a running back and can make a play with the ball in his hands has some teams excited about his potential undoubtedly.
Corley was productive each of the last three seasons and recorded 11 touchdowns in each of the last two campaigns. As a junior, Corley had 1,293 yards receiving and followed it up with 984 as a senior. When Corley gets loose in the open field he is like bringing down a running back.
The concern with his game is that his route tree is not well developed, as he was not asked to do much differentiation at Western Kentucky. Another is the level of competition he was going up while in college.
At 5-foot-11 and his build of about 215 pounds, there is reason to see that a player like Corley may just end up being a slot guy in the end. I wouldn’t value a slot in this draft before the third round, but some folks believe that Corley is going in the second round.
Cleveland has to continue investing in wide receivers to evolve the room. Corley appears to be one player that is at least on their radar.
Browns could be in the process of making a draft mistake if a top-30 visit is telling us anything
It would be a repetitive move by the Browns.
