If the Cleveland Browns lose to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, they can say goodbye to the playoffs and any success this season. It is really that simple after a 1-4 start to the NFL season.

Pro Bowl left guard Joel Bitonio had the perfect response to what exactly the Browns need to do to save their season. Bitonio will make start No. 150 for the Browns on Sunday vs. the Eagles.

"We have to find a way to win a game,” said Bitonio. “There's definitely urgency, I wouldn't say panic, but urgency."

The word that should be remembered there is urgency. To win a game, the Browns will have to beat the Eagles, who are 2-2 and coming off of a bye week. Philadelphia is as healthy as they have been too. They will welcome back both star wideouts A.J. Brown and Devonta Smith back to the field against Cleveland.

Bitonio and his unit will have their hands full. Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter on the inside for the Eagles offer as beefy of an interior defensive line you will find. It is not clear whether center Ethan Pocic will be able to go. Rookie Zak Zinter will make another start at right guard in place of Wyatt Teller, who is on the injured reserve.

Cleveland’s schedule is going to be pretty tough the rest of the way this season. They have already dropped games to the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, and Washington Commanders. The Browns were picked to be favored in each of those games before the season.

In the fifth year for Kevin Stefanski and Andrew Berry, not making the playoffs for a third time would be a bad sign for where this team is going. It gets even worse when you think about how they won 11 games last season and made the playoffs through much worse injury adversity.

Bitonio is right that the Browns do need to act with urgency. If they don’t, their season will soon be over before it technically is.
