Week 16 likely just got a lot easier for the Cleveland Browns for an unfortunate reason.

Houston Texans QB C.J. Stroud is reportedly set to miss a second straight game due to a concussion, per Aaron Wilson. The Texans will turn to veteran QB Case Keenum, a player that the Browns are very familiar with.

Going from the Offensive Rookie of the Year to a backup is a steep fall but it’s not one the Browns are going to complain about. Since they are on a quest to make the playoffs, Cleveland will gladly accept the early Christmas gift.

The game will be played in Houston and it has playoff complications. As of right now, the Browns would be the No. 5 seed in the AFC, and Houston is at No. 8, also known as the outside looking in.

Starting a backup is nothing new for the Browns, either, who have handed the keys to Joe Flacco for the rest of the season. At the beginning of the season, this looked like a game where Deshaun Watson returned to Houston, but that ship sailed due to his shoulder injury.

Cleveland not having to play against Stroud on Christmas Eve with a chance to pick up win No. 10 is a nice opportunity.
