Cleveland Browns have once again restructured a contract, something that has become a common practice with them.
After restructuring LG Joel Bitonio’s deal the other day, the Browns are now reworking the deal of star pass rusher Myles Garrett, according to ESPN’s Field Yates.
This move creates north of $12 million in cap space and brings Cleveland to a total of $34 million in cap space.
Right now, the thought is the Browns want to roll over as much cap space as they can as the cap projects continue increasing each year. Cleveland has large contracts coming up, so it makes a ton of sense.
The contract of TE David Njoku will jump to nearly $10 million from 2023 to 2024. In 2024, CB Denzel Ward’s deal increases by over $11 million, as his extension kicks in.
If the Browns want to make a splash move during the season via a big trade, they now have the ability to do that too.
Another restructure continues to open doors for the Browns, who have no problem adding void years onto deals of players they view as long-term pieces.
